He lost me with the Marcus Morris thing and Thibs wanted to get rid of our whole core. I just find this whole article hard to believe. I highly doubt Perrin left Utah after all those years to not have much of a say in the draft over here has anything been reported on his preferences? the draft screamed CAA-Kentucky which is Leon and Wes's area of expertise We don't really know what Perrin's influence was. I'm sure Kenny Payne did have a big impact on the IQ pick, but I imagine Wes did too. + it backs up some things we already knew: Aller is a big picture kinda guy, Thibs wanted Hayward and loves his vets Idk, that was some pretty detailed reporting, not some of Bermans lazy sh*t Then Thibs wanted to trade our whole core and rather have someone like Marcus Morris long term? There’s no mention of Kenny Payne or Walt Perrin having influence on any of our draft picks. I thought the stars were aligned and we were dueģtoheadmelo wrote:Like I said before, I don’t believe Berman’s apprentice. I was sure we were gonna land a top 3 pick and get Lamelo. didn't like him before the draft, tried to get excited for him, but watching him is tough when Hali is killing it I know we took IQ but I view him more as a 6th man of the year/Lemon Pepper Lou-like combo guard, rather than a true PG True, I just can't get over not taking a PG I get the impression Thibs didn’t really love anybody on this roster before the season began Maybe Obi was there as a insurance in case Randle was more of the same from last season. if so, why not go w/ a PG? it was clearly our biggest need Now we know that what I don't get is that in the article it said Thibs was impressed w/ Randle in September. It's actually a really good read and makes me even more nervous of Thibs being able to let this team build the way i want them to build which is through the draft.
